谷牧是我国创建经济特区的重要组织领导者和积极推动者,为经济特区的建立与发展做出了重要贡献。他率团出访欧洲,积极寻找我国对外开放的切入点,迈出了我国对外开放的坚实步伐。为筹办经济特区,他殚精竭虑,未雨绸缪,进行了大胆探索与实践,打开了我国对外开放的重要突破口。在经济特区遭受非议和责难时,他认真调研,冷静思考,科学分析,以雄辩的事实证明中央设立经济特区决策的正确性,为加快经济特区建设提供了强有力的支撑点。
Gu Mu, an important organization leader and an active promoter of the special economic zones in our country, made important contributions to the establishment and development of the special economic zones. He led a delegation to visit Europe and actively sought out the starting point for China’s opening up to the outside world, taking a solid step toward opening up to the outside world. In order to organize a special economic zone, he did his best and took precautions. He conducted bold explorations and practices and opened an important breakthrough in opening up to the outside world in China. When the SEZs were subjected to criticism and censure, he conscientiously investigated, calmly considered and scientifically analyzed the eloquent facts to prove the correctness of the decision made by the central authorities in setting up SEZs and provided a strong support for accelerating the construction of the special economic zones.
