Lead: According to the CNN report, China's innovation industry has made incredible progress. In 2011, the number of patent applications in China is expected to surpass Japan and the United States. Patents often measure the speed of development of a country's innovation force. It makes sense that China ranks among the top innovators in the world. However, a veteran Harvard Law School researcher, Vivek Wadhwa, wrote in tech blog Techcrunch on January 16, 2011 that the current patent system is deforming, causing businesses and individuals to over-pursue the number of patents while ignoring innovation. Chinese patents have the problem of over-pursuing quantity rather than quality.
