Objective To investigate the clinical features of liver-derived diabetes (HD). Methods The subjects were hospitalized with HD and diabetes mellitus (DM), 30 patients were HD and DM respectively. Both groups were given glucose tolerance test (OGTT) and insulin release test. Blood glucose, insulin and C-peptide were compared between the two groups, and the insulin resistance index (HOMA-IR) was calculated. Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) was detected. Results Compared with DM group, fasting blood glucose and postprandial blood glucose at 2 h were lower in HD group and higher at 3 h postprandial glucose. HOMA-IR and HbA1 c were lower in HD group (all P <0.05). Conclusion HD patients with blood glucose and related indicators and DM patients are very different. HD patients with insulin resistance is lighter than DM patients.
