As the time goes by this century, I think it is timely to talk about the library and library librarians in the 21st century and beyond. The end of a century marks a milestone. The conclusion of a millennium marks a special milestone. In a sense, it should be easy to describe the future of a rapidly developing area. I also believe that no one will hold me accountable in the future for what I said in 1990. In another sense, it is difficult to do so. Because we can only speculate based on the current trends we know about, many of them are unpredictable. Futurists warned that we over-estimated the changes that could take place in the next two to three years because we did not consider the role of habitual forces and bureaucratic resistance and at the same time we spent time explaining problems and seeking consensus Not considered.
