贺天健(一八九一—一九七七)原名骏,字炳南,江苏无锡人。十七岁时改署天健,早年又自称『百尺楼头一丈夫』,晚年又字健叟,斋名『开天楼』。贺天健自幼喜爱绘画,八岁起开始勾画《芥子园传》《晚笑堂画谱》。一九二一年贺天健与友人创办了无锡美术专科学校,担任国文、西画教授。一九二九年贺天健与郑午昌、孙雪泥、钱瘦铁、王师子、陆丹林等发起组织了著名的『蜜蜂画社』。该社前后入会有六期,人数逾百,并办有《蜜蜂画报》,盛况空前。一九三一年贺天健又与叶恭绰、黄宾虹、陆丹林、钱瘦铁等在上海成立上海中国画会,担任中国画会主任委员,主编《画学月刊》及《国画月刊》,在画坛上有较大影响。应该讲,在民国时期,贺的声望仅次于吴湖帆。解放后,贺天健为上海中国画
