成都市邮政局是全国七大邮政通信一级处理中心之一,西南最大的邮件转口局.企业年处理总包邮件2.65亿袋;年处理平常邮件3.12亿件;年累计发行、订阅、零售报刊7.6亿份(册)。企业通信能力在全国省会邮政局中名列前茅.信息化的浪潮给传统邮政带来了巨大的冲击。信息化现状在生产和管理中广泛运用计算机技术,从1987年开始在生产和管理中使用微型计算机,现全局共有微机1000余台,服务器200余台。建成信函处理系统,1996年引进两套比利时贝尔公司自动信函分拣机,实现信函分拣自动化。建成邮政储蓄计算机网(简称“绿卡”)。目前,成都邮政储蓄已和全国30个省(区、市)的50余个城市中心主机系统联网
