Robert Browning is a famous British poet in the Victorian era, with the soliloquy of the poem alone for decades, has had a profound impact on modernist poets in Britain and the United States. In his poems, he has created a series of figures, pursuing the essence of art, love and life. However, they have never been able to reach the perfect stage and thus convey the imperfect essence of everything. According to Browning, imperfection is also a form of beauty. It is incomplete and dynamic. Its aesthetic value lies in the tension with the perfect see-saw. Browning’s aesthetic view broke the 19th century romantic pursuit of perfection, with imperfect poetry, broaden the theme of poetry, has an important poetic significance.
