1996年4月11日至6月9日在巴黎最繁华的香榭里舍大街到协和广场这一段巴黎最宽敞的林荫大道上举行了规模巨大的“雕塑的田野”展。这个展览是由《巴黎竞赛画报》、法国电视二台等十几家大企业出资赞助的,集中了从罗丹以来欧洲近现代雕塑大师的49件体量巨大的原作。它将向人们展现近百年来现代雕塑的面貌,所以有的评论家称这个展览主题为“一百年来的形式变迁”。 4月的巴黎,鸟语花香,只是短短的几天时间,这些雕塑原件就从各大博物馆的展厅中运到这里的林荫大道预先设计好的大展台上,并迅速配备了夜间照明。白天来自各地的游客、参观者络绎不绝,入夜,美丽多彩的灯光把座座雕像照耀得精美绝伦,尤其是地处协和广场的来自埃及的著名的方尖碑,被伊夫·克莱因设计的蓝色射灯照得通体成为透明的蔚蓝色,使人们熟悉的方尖碑突然跨越了四千多年的时间通道变成现代气息极为强烈的一件艺术瑰宝,方尖碑上的象形文字发出神秘的讯号在对每一个观众眨眼,而当我们流连忘返在这49件雕塑作品之间时,我们才感到自罗丹以来,一个世纪,仅仅一个世纪,雕塑的面貌发生了多么巨大的变化。
From April 11 to June 9, 1996, a spectacular “Sculpture of the Field” exhibition was held on the most spacious boulevard in Paris at the Place de la Concorde, the busiest Avenue of Champs Elysees in Paris.
