著名地质学家李四光教授提出,中国主要发育有四大构造体系,即:新华夏构造体系、西域构造体系、纬向构造体系及青藏反“S”型构造体系。通过几十年油气勘探和研究,进一步认识到这四大构造体系将中国大陆分成了三大构造域(东部构造域、西北构造域和西南构造域)和四个带(自北而南:北带、中带、中南带及南带),这些构造体系的复合或联合,控制了含油气盆地的形成和演化,盆内二、三级正向构造带控制油气分布,低级次扭动构造带控制油气田。
Professor Li Siguang, a famous geologist, proposed that there are four major structural systems in China: Xinhuaxia tectonic system, Western China tectonic system, zonal tectonic system and Qinghai-Tibet anti-S-type tectonic system. After several decades of oil and gas exploration and research, it has been further recognized that these four major structural systems have separated the mainland China into three major tectonic domains (eastern tectonic domain, northwest tectonic domain, and southwest tectonic domain) and four belts (north to south: north Central, Southern, Southern and Southern Belts).
