西部农场是著名的“京西稻”产区,长期以来采用“水育秧、泡田插秧、全生育期淹灌”的传统种稻方式,以至多年来产量在400~425kg/亩中徘徊不前,费水、费电、费工、效益不高。1992~1993年开展了以节水、高产、高仅为目标的综合配套技术研究,通过试验和示范研究,探索出“盘钵育苗,抛秧种植,浅、干、湿控水灌溉”的水稻种植新技术,节水、高产、增收、省工、改善劳动条件效果明显,目前已推广4816亩。这项技术应用于麦茬稻时,可将节约的水用于小麦,推行稻麦两茬,提高复种指数,增加粮食总产。
