When I saw the retirement notice on my desk, she went to the personnel department and completed the formalities in a day, taking away all the personal items. Her husband, Hu Fu, is legendary in the automotive industry that she created the first engine for Chery. Hu Fu, ancestral home in Shanghai, graduated from Tsinghua University in 1963 Department of Automotive, tractor and engine professional. In the same year, went to the first automobile factory design department engine department work. In 1967, with enthusiasm to “design an engine from scratch,” she signed up for the construction of the second car factory. However, at this moment, China is in the craze of the cultural revolution. Not long after he arrived in Hubei, Hu Fu was placed in the north of North “Five-seven cadres” labor reform. Over the next two and a half years, she became a farmer cultivating vegetables and spent most of her life’s journey as the “most test person.” After returning to Shiyan in 1972, Hu Fu was assigned to the product group, the main piston, piston ring and bearing design. In 1980, the two steam launched 6110 diesel engine, she transferred to technical center work. After the reform and opening up, FAW gradually began to contact foreign auto industry. With his skillful English, Hu Fu participated in the technical consulting project of Riccarton in the United Kingdom; subsequently, he did a great deal of work on the introduction of Cummins engines. Just as Hu Fu devoted himself to the preparations for the establishment of a joint venture between Dongfeng and Cummins, a letter of retirement reminded her to make the decision: To leave the workforce for 28 years. In October 1998, Hu Fu arrived at Chery, which had only 200 employees at the time. Seven months later, Chery’s first engine was off the assembly line. Since 2002, Chery has commissioned the Austrian AVL company to develop three series and 18 engines. Hu Fu, as the deputy chief engineer, led the young technicians to spend four years in front of and behind Graz, taking part in the engine design work and training a batch of engine talents for Chery. December 4, 2011, Wuhu, Anhui, Hu spent two hours in an orderly manner to the “Automotive Business Review” reviewed her car career. When the reporter mentions in the industry about the rumor that she had produced the first engine for Chery, Hu Fu firmly denied that she thought her job was only to improve the drawings. Hu Fu was not willing to accept the magazine’s “oral history” column interview, she felt he was only a small figure in the entire Chinese automobile industry, there is no high and there is no big achievement, but the “Automotive Business Review” to promote Chinese cars The industrial sense of mission ahead finally touched her. As one of the few female engine specialists in China’s auto industry, Hu Fu not only possesses the rigorous and pragmatic nature of scientific researchers, but also possesses the nobleness and strength of the older generation of knowledgeable women. In the face of difficulties, Spirit is more lamenting. She is undoubtedly one of the representatives who can claim the backbone of Chinese cars.
