Foreign language teaching encounters difficulties in terms of learners,psychological differences between Chinese and western cultures.In this article,the major manifestations and their reasons for those cultural differences are discussed.Therefore,foreign language teachers are encouraged to cultivate the learners to improve their cross-cultural awareness so as to lessen the negative influences,creating the optimal foreign language teaching approaches in the background of Chinese culture.
