The piezoresistive properties of polyethylene / graphite semiconductor composites (HDPE / GP) at axial pressure were investigated. The results show that the conductivity of this compound has a more significant pressure dependence. In the low pressure range, the resistance decreases with increasing pressure and increases with increasing pressure at higher pressures, presenting so-called “NPCR” and “PPCR” effects. The pressure dependence of resistance and the “creep resistance” behavior under constant pressure are considered to be related to the destruction and recombination of the conductive particle network under stress.
