新市民文学是20世纪90年代初中期产生的一种文学现象,它是因中国社会经济体制转型,“由以政治意识形态为中心转向以商业意识形态为中心”而产生的。商品化经济的建立使中国市民阶层发生了一种新的变化———新兴市民的兴起,表现他们在经济转轨、市场竞争的文化转型期的遭际、个人感性化的生存状态和文化价值,传达作家对于生存的个人化的独特感悟和理解的新市民文学也就应运而生。
The new civic literature is a kind of literary phenomenon produced in the middle and early 1990s. It is caused by the transformation of China’s social and economic system and its transformation from “taking political ideology as the center to commercial ideology as the center.” The establishment of a commercialized economy has brought about a new change in the Chinese civic strata --- the rise of newcomers, their intercourse and personal sensual survival and cultural values during the period of economic transition and market competition, New civic literature emerged from the author’s unique perception and understanding of the personalization of existence.
