英国的普莱赛公司与澳政府相继签订了三个通信工程合同,就是:“乌鸦”工程,即 Raven 无线电系统;DISCON,即国防综合保密通信网;Parakeet 系统,陆军战术区域通信系统。DISCON 系统的合同首期五年,投资三千九百万澳元,为澳东海岸提供电话、电极、数据和传真业务的网络。这个系统总投资将超过2亿元。采用松鸡交换技术。这三个工程完成以后,则可为澳大利亚部队提供从前沿到国防部一个综合的保密通信系统。
