Negative perfectionism led Plass toward self-righteousness, and positive perfectionism inspired her to write down the eternal classic, and achieved her fame. In the 20th century when patriarchalism still prevailed and gender equality was far from being realized, Plath, as a new female, was perfected by the era and society she had lived in and the deeply rooted gender bias in her life. Thus she The perfectionism embodied in the body and in the works is actually the external and explicit manifestation of the oppressed fate of the vast majority of women and is the inevitable product of the coercion of women by the patriarchal society.
