Objective: To investigate the protective effect of the combination of Antelope horn and Uncaria rapa on brain injury induced by febrile seizures in rats. Methods: Fifty rats were randomly divided into blank group, model group, Antelope horn group, Uncaria group, Antelope horn - Uncaria group, with 10 rats in each group. The rats in each drug group were given the corresponding drug solution , The blank group given equal volume of distilled water. 1 time / d for 21 days. After 60 min of administration, the rats were placed in hot water bath (45 ± 0.5) ℃ in hot water bath for 10 times every other day for 10 consecutive seizures. Immediately after seizures were taken out and wiped dry, the latency and convulsion of convulsions were observed The duration of the attack. After the last administration for 24 h, 5 rats in each group were anesthetized and sacrificed. The hippocampus was stained with HE and observed under light microscope. Results: The damage of hippocampal CA1 neurons in the Antelope horn - Uncaria group, Antelope horn group and Uncaria group was alleviated after the onset of febrile seizures. The antelope horn - Uncaria group alleviated more obviously than the Antelope horn group and Uncaria anguillarum group and Uncaria rhynchophylla group were significantly longer than those of the Uncaria rhizogenes group and Uncaria rhynchophylla group, and the duration of convulsion was significantly shortened. Compared with the single-antelope horn group and the Uncaria group, both in prolonging the convulsion latency and shortening the convulsion duration There are obvious advantages. Conclusion: The combination of Antelope horn and Uncaria rhynchophylla has a synergistic effect in improving brain tissue damage, and it is obviously superior to that of Monochorus antelope and Uncaria.
