在温哥华侨界举行欢迎中山市北美访问团宴会上,有一位女士用数码相机为来宾频频照相。一头褐发,高高的鼻梁,水灵灵的大眼睛,加上苗条的身材和得体的服装,使众客不约而同地瞄向她。我好奇地问:“她是谁?”“她叫陈美美,战胜癌魔,死里逃生。”侨领刘先生边说边唤陈美美过来与我相识。陈美美给我的第一印象是美,她以战胜癌魔表现生命的美丽,使我既钦佩又惊讶。癌症是令人恐惧而又发病率极高的顽症。在北美五个病患者,其中有一个是癌,死亡率很高,据说80%是吓死的。
