威海市环翠区结合区域实际,着重发展高新技术产业、节能环保型产业、基础设施建设及社会事业,避免高能耗、高污染、低产出的投资。在引导小城镇增强辐射带动功能时,充分发挥中心城区完善的自来水、污水、供暖、供气等基础设施带动作用,推进小城镇与老城区的科学对接,起到了“花少钱,办大事”事半功倍的效果。环翠区在东北亚及国内南方地区召开了多场以招商引资为主题的投资创业说明会,全力推介威海环翠区的创业环境,赢得国内外投资商的极大好感。同时,他们着眼国家关于取消对纺织品实行配额制的政策,把全区纺织服装业发展成骨干产业,去年该区此项产业对外贸易额约占全区总量的40%。
