1. Calculation of Deformation of Reinforced Concrete Members Deformation calculation of flexural members generally adopts the formula of material mechanics. The problem lies in how to use the rigidity of members. The original “Regulations of the Common Bridge” stipulates: “When calculating the deformation of the member subject to bending and the internal force of the statically indeterminate structure, the calculated stiffness is taken as E_hI_h / 1.5 (I_h is the moment of inertia of the concrete)” and E_hI_h / 1.5 is 0.67E_hI_h.
