释义宋国有个狙公,非常喜爱猴子,在家里养了一大群。他能够了解猴子的意愿,猴子也能懂得主人的心思。狙公情愿节省家人的口粮,来充当猴子的饲料。不久,他家穷了,打算减少猴子的饲料。他担心猴子们不顺从自己,就先诓骗猴子们说:“今后给你们橡子吃,早上三颗晚上四颗,够了吗?”猴子们听了,都跳起来非常恼怒。呆了一会,狙公又说道:“给你们橡子吃,早上四颗晚上三颗,够了吗?”猴子们一听,都趴在地上表示满意。
