2008年被国家文化部确认为“中国民间文化艺术之乡(民间音乐)”的东山岛,近邻厦门、汕头两个经济特区,与台湾遥相对望,是全国去台人员最多的县份。
In 2008, Dongshan Island, recognized by the Ministry of Culture as “the hometown of Chinese folk culture and the arts (folk music)” and the two special economic zones adjacent to Xiamen and Shantou, stood far away from Taiwan with Taiwan. It is the county with the most personnel to Taiwan.
