汉语的“数”有基数和序数之分:基数表示数量的多少,序数表示次序的先后。汉族一向注重等级次第和座次排列,因而汉语里表示序数的方法也多种多样。
Chinese “number” has a base and the ordinal number of points: the base number of how many, the ordinal order of precedence. Han people always pay attention to rankings and seating arrangements, and thus Chinese methods of expressing ordinal numbers are also varied.
