历代巴蜀籍学者的方言研究成就显著,代表着蜀学特色,在中国传统学术上占有极重要的地位。其具体表现为:汉代扬雄是古代汉语方言研究的开创者,其学术成就延至清代也无人超越;明代学者杨慎、李实的方言学著述是明代方言学研究为数为不多的硕果;晚清张慎仪的蜀方言研究是晚清蜀学的旁枝。他们的方言学论著为当代学者研究巴蜀方言提供了翔实的语料及参照系。
The achievements made by dialects of ancient Sichuan-Sichuan scholars are remarkable. They represent the characteristics of Shu and occupy a very important position in traditional Chinese tradition. Its manifestations are as follows: Yang Xiong in the Han Dynasty was the pioneer of the study of ancient Chinese dialects, and his academic achievement was unmanned beyond the Qing Dynasty. The dialect study of Ming Dynasty scholar Yang Shen and Li Shi was one of the few fruits of dialect study in the Ming Dynasty ; The late Qing Dynasty Zhang Shen-yi Shu dialect study is off the shores of the late Qing Shu. Their dialect theory treats contemporary scholars to study Ba-Shu dialect and provides informative corpus and frame of reference.
