C-peptide is the cleavage product during the conversion of proinsulin into insulin. In recent years, studies have shown that C-peptide can prevent and reverse diabetes-induced vascular dysfunction, especially in the characteristic diabetic microangiopathy --- diabetic nephropathy has to reduce glomerular hyperfiltration state, reduce the beneficial effects of urinary albumin leakage. The role of C-peptide may be to enhance the activity of the Na +, K + -ATPase in the tissue by enhancing the function of the insulin signaling system, forming ion channels in membrane lipids to alter ionic homeostasis, blocking the metabolic imbalance caused by reducing stress, or activating endothelial cells Nitric oxide synthase mechanisms play a biological effect. The research progress of C-peptide may have important significance to improve the treatment of diabetes.
