In the early 1980s, when Chinese society was reopened to the world, the existentialist philosophy of the famous French scholar and social activist Jean-Paul Sartre of this century became an early entry into our country and brought about the birth of our youth, especially the undergraduates Foreign schools of philosophy that have an important influence. “Existence precedes essence” is the most basic principle of Sartre’s philosophy, which is the core point that affects the thinking of college students in our country. What kind of influence did Sartre’s existentialist philosophy study (this paper focuses on the analysis of the “existence precedes essence”) in what kind of background has it had on Chinese college students? How are Chinese college students before and during the acceptance of this proposition? Reproduced some of the meanings of this proposition, what kind of distortion has it caused? What are the conditions and intermediaries of such rebuilding and transformation?
