内蒙古是位于我国北部边疆的少数民族自治区,经过长时间的历史传承,保留下了宝贵的民族文化传统的同时,也形成了鲜明的地域特色。内蒙古科技馆作为内蒙古地区最大的全民科普性教育场馆,同时也肩负着推广全民科普和民族文化传承的任务,因此,科技馆在建设过程中除了体现“探索、创新、未来”等科技主题,还应当体现内蒙古主要少数民族的民族文化理念,以展教的形式,把科技馆的科普思想和民族文化理念相结合,使之成为内蒙古广大人民群众在闲暇中学习先进的科学知识及人文文化的最佳场所,同时也使内蒙古优秀的民族文化得到有效的传承及广泛的传播。
