悬铃木(Platanus acerifolia Willd.)在武汉地区是久经考验的优秀园林树种之一,一般用扦插法繁殖。由于插穗来源有限,还远不能适应当前的生产需要,我们遵循了党的“用两条腿走路”的教导,试用播种法加以繁殖。实践证明播种繁殖悬铃木,采种易,得苗多,生长也不慢。加之一年生播种苗的主干,大部分还可用作插穗,插后全枝处处生根,并且是先生根,后展叶,几乎是100％的成活率。同时,播种繁殖又可起到更新复壮,从根本上提高悬铃木的生活力,增强抗性和减免生势衰退等方面的积极作用。但是,悬铃木种子细小,一个球果虽集聚800-1,000粒种子,可是其中含有种仁、能够发芽的还不到10％(可能与杂种来源有关),再加上播种不甚得法,往往无法保证出苗良好。现据我们近二年(1964-1965)来摸索所得的经验,只要掌握以下几点,便可获得成功。
