皎口水库位于鄞西奉化江支流,樟溪上游的大皎、小皎二溪汇合处——密岩村。是一座以防洪、灌溉为主兼供水、发电、养鱼等综合利用的大型水利工程。控制集雨面积259平方公里,总库容1:2亿立方米。工程于一九七零年五月动工,一九七三年五月大坝封孔蓄水,一九七五年一月竣工,一九八四年至一九八七年底又进行了保坝工程。水库主要工程有大坝、溢流段、泄洪洞、发电输水洞、电站等水工建筑物组成。大坝为浆砌块石砼重力坝,坝顶长407米,宽10米,高67.4米,坝顶高程79.4米。溢流闸宽60米,溢流堰顶高程694米,装有弧形铡闸门6——10×5.25米,最大下泄量为3821秒立方米,泄洪洞断面3.2×4.2米,配深孔弧形钢闸门,最大下泄量为170秒立方米。发电输水洞直径3.2米,长42.6米,电站装
