With the gradual maturation of Chinese art theory, in order to further promote the development and innovation of fine arts theory, the Theoretical Committee of the Chinese Artists Association (the second session) was established and held its first working conference in Beijing on November 8, 2003. Wang Chunli, deputy secretary general of the Chinese Artists Association and secretary general of the Art Committee, presided over the inaugural meeting. Liu Dawei, executive vice chairman of the China Artists Association and director of the Art Committee, arrived at the meeting and congratulated the founding of the theoretical committee.
