当今书坛,“民间书法”、“流行书风”等词汇出现的频率相当高,与之同时出现了大大小小的展览、形形色色的炒作、热热闹闹的研讨。表面上看起来是一片繁荣,而实际上,伴随着“民间书法”、“流行书风”的蔓延,今日之书坛出现了这样一种倾向:一些书法爱好者连起码的临帖基本功都不具备,却热衷于直接描摹一些技法低劣、用笔粗糙、结体无序、章法松散的断碑残纸,或是追赶现在书坛的“时髦”——
