今年43岁的朱湘炳,1969年进入杉山煤矿,先后当过采煤工人、供销员、副矿长、矿长,期间还出任过镇办金溪水泥厂厂长。20多年,800多个日日夜夜,朱湘炳在企业摸爬滚打,艰苦奋斗花费了多少心血,洒下了多少汗水,无以数计。1986年底,镇办金溪水泥厂经营管理不善,连年亏损累计达90多万元,工厂处于停产状态。镇党委决定选派当时任杉山煤矿矿长的朱湘炳去水泥厂当厂长。
