“德意志”一词来源于古高地德语“ｄｉｏｔ”,最早史见于公元8世纪,是指生活在法兰克王国东部的日尔曼部落所讲的方言。在中古高地德语中写作为“ｄｉｕｔｉｓｃ”,经考察认定“ｄｉｕｔｉｓｃ”这个词是从10世纪之后才使用的。带有ｉｓｃ(在现代标准德语中等于ｉｓｃｈ)后缀
The word “Deutsche” comes from the Old German “diot”, the earliest recorded in the 8th century AD, in the dialect spoken by the Germain tribes living in the east of the Frankish kingdom. Written as “diutisc” in Middle German high German, the study found that the term “diutisc” was used only after the 10th century. With isc (isch in modern standard German) suffix
