The U.S. National Los Alamos Institute and Grumman reached a technical cooperation agreement to develop the core technology large particle accelerator for the strategic defensive plan being implemented in the United States. The large-scale particle accelerator was a system that was destroyed at the “arrival phase” of intercontinental missiles close to the U.S. mainland. The joint research institute and Grumman jointly invested 15 million U.S. dollars to build experimental facilities within three years. The co-developed giant accelerator is a device that emits a powerful neutral beam. It identifies missiles and simulated missiles (decoy missiles) arriving in the attack phase and only attacks live ammunition.
