盆地是新构造运动的窗口,亦是断裂新活动强度的重要标志之一。在西南地区活断裂带发育的串状盆地具有一定的普遍性,其中鲜水河断裂带就有大小盆地达10个之多,呈串状沿断裂分布,而且盆地与地震活动存在一定的相关性。研究断裂的活动强度及其力学机制转换性质、探讨强震构造及强震重复段特点,对有关盆地进行解剖是十分必要的,1985年我们在虾拉沱盆地开展工作过程中,在前人工作基础上取得一些新的认识,现将有关成果汇总如下。
