In the west and south-west mountain areas of Sichuan, as well as in the hilly country in the border districts of the Sichuan Basin, there are vast stretches of dense primeval forests from which riot only plants and animals come, but also the wealth given by nature on which Sichuan relies for existence and development. These areas are also the source from where the people of Sichuan gain abundant produce, a good water supply, fertile soil, fresh air and beautiful landscapes, and so the people of Sichuan can live happily. Today’s industrialization and modernisation can not be at the expense of these natural resources. People can not live without forests and other natural resources. We should put to rational use the forest resources, and try in every way to protect nature.
