茶树的花是两性花。正常茶树的花是由5—7个萼片和5—8枚白色花瓣组成的,一般有1个柱头,200—300个雄蕊,盛花期有蜜腺,略有芳香味。然而,在自然界由于自然突变所引起的突变体,它们的花也成了变态花。图(1)是四川汉王山茶场在农家群体品种中所发现的一株茶树的重瓣茶花。它无雌雄蕊,花冠直径2—2.5厘米;花瓣比一般花小,有110余个,排列不整齐,重生十多层,花瓣洁白,可供观赏;花期9—12月,不能结实,需营养繁殖。
