上海市农科院作物所在“六五”期间承担并完成了国家科技攻关重点项目之一的“水稻花培育种”计划,前不久,经中国农科院作物所、中国水稻研究所和广西农科院等单位专家们检查验收后通过。作物所用水稻花粉组织培养,先后育成了“新秀”、“花寒早”两个粳稻新品种和代号为SH_8、SH_(11)、SH_(35)、SH_(45)、SH_(48)等一批新品系,写出具有一定学术水平的论文二十四篇。这些新品种和新品系一般均具有产量高、米质好等优点。“花寒早”还具有抗寒性强、熟期早的特点。据最近调查统计,“花寒早”在本市和江苏、浙江等地栽培的面积达一百二
