Hardenability of steel refers to the ability of the steel to be hardened. Usually measured by the end of the hardenability test hardenability curve or quenching critical diameter to represent. At present, the distance from surface to semi-martensite (composed of 50% martensite and 50% non-martensite) is generally used as the depth of hardened layer, and this depth is used as a criterion for determining hardenability. Therefore, it is generally considered harder non-martensite greater than 50% of the part is not hardened. Measuring the hardenability of steel has very important practical significance. It is the main reference data for steel use department and mechanical designer to select the suitable steel type economically and reasonably. It is also an important basis for heat treatment workers to formulate a reasonable heat treatment process. However, the hardenability curve measured by the end-hardenability test method can not be directly used to determine the size of the work piece that can be hardened by a certain steel type, but also some other
