汉语中有许多字在历史的沉淀下形成了许多不同的用法,汉语经历了一系列的发展和演变,意义也有了扩大、缩小和转变。例如:古代汉语中的一些字的用法从当时直到现在发生了很多变化,以“老”字为例,它的用法则体现了汉语发展演变中的扩大规律,通常我们所认为“老”字多用作词缀,但除此之外,它还有许多常见却不为人注意但仍然很重要的用法,这不仅仅是中国传统文化发展的必然结果,也是中华文化发展的重要体现,同时也显示了现代汉语的发展。
