哈尔滨工业大学于1980年开始研制电磁成形实验装置,1984年安装调试完毕,并进行了大量工艺实验。在此基础上,又研制成功可用于生产的7200J电磁成形机,并于1987年7月通过航天部鉴定。该机体积小,结构紧凑,成本低,配以相应的线圈及模具,可用于缩口、扩口、拉伸、复杂形状零件的胀形(如膜盒、音膜、浮雕等)、异型管成形以及管与管、管与板的联结等。该机的主要性能参数如下:
