阐明长江口百余华里浅滩的形成及对航运的不利影响，依据上海的自然和经济条件，提出了以运河港池连接黄浦江和杭州湾的浦东大港工程，以都江堰深浅河床的方法治理长江口工程的两种构想．
Based on the natural and economic conditions in Shanghai, a Pudong Dagang project connecting the Huangpu River and Hangzhou Bay with canal basins was put forward to govern the Yangtze River with the method of deep and shallow riverbed in Dujiangyan Two ideas of mouth project.
