2017年4月5日,朝鲜在朝东部新浦地区发射1枚疑似新型中程弹道导弹。4月6日,韩国针锋相对地宣布,在韩西部泰安郡成功试射了自主研发的“玄武-2C”型弹道导弹,该型导弹射程达800千米,可覆盖朝鲜全境。此系韩军首次公布该型导弹的相关研发情況。韩军称,这一核心战略武器的研发旨在增强“三轴体系”之一的“大规模惩罚报复作战”能力,以便在发现朝鲜动月核武器征兆时抢先实施“斩首行动”。
