The intermediate-temperature ionic conducting sample of Ce0.95Er0.05P2O7 was prepared via solid state reaction. The conductivity as a function of temperature(100–300℃), time and the p(O2) pressure were investigated. The maximum conductivities of Ce0.95Er0.05P2O7 sample delete in dry air and wet air are 1.2×10–5 S·cm–1 at 300℃ and 1.5× 10–3 S·cm–1 at 100℃, respectively. The lg σ–lgp(O2) plot indicates that Ce0.95Er0.05P2O7 is almost a pure ionic conductor under a higher oxygen partial pressure and a mixed conductor of ion and electron under a lower oxygen partial pressure.
