1 选择亲本西葫芦杂交一代种一般具有父母本双亲的优点,因此,选择亲本时,要根据生产的需要,一般应该具有早熟、矮生、耐寒、丰产、质优等特性的品种为宜。被选出的父母本要经过生产试验,合格后方能釆用。 2 自交系制种被选定的父母本,应隔离种植,空间隔离并与其他西葫芦地相距1000m,以高棵作物隔离,也须300m以上。进行自交系内授粉留种,以保持自交系的纯正,获得合格的父母本自交系。
