陕北民歌具有鲜明的陕北地方特色,除了其“作陕北之声,纪陕北之地,名陕北之物”外,“书陕北之语”也是其重要的一个方面。如果没有陕北方言,陕北民歌的地方风格将大失其色,许多陕北民歌只有用陕北方言写出来、唱出来才能称之为地地道道的陕北民歌。同时,无论是陕北民歌的创作,还是陕北民歌的演唱,都不能忽视陕北方言。
