一鸡与绘画自古以来鸡就为历代文人墨客所钟爱,画家们笔下鸡的风采千姿百态。我们在绘画上常见的绘有鸡的种类多为动物界,脊索动物门,鸟纲,鸡形目,雉科类别下。如原鸡属的家鸡、乌骨鸡,锦鸡属的锦鸡,雉属的雉鸡(又称野鸡),竹鸡,等等。雌鸡与雄鸡外形上不同,雄性羽毛比雌性要艳丽,因而更受画家青睐。绘鸡背景通常为动物鸡日常生活的环境,如草地、野外、河边、峭石、树下,等等。时间上春、夏、秋、冬四季不限,通过绘画表现季节主要是其他动植物,如春季的杏花、
