Objective To investigate the effects of atorvastatin on serum inflammatory factors and serum lipids in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Methods One hundred and ten patients with ACS after PCI were selected from Taizhou People ’s Hospital from January 2012 to December 2015, and randomly divided into control group and observation group with 55 cases in each group. Patients in the control group were treated with conventional drugs. Patients in the observation group were given oral atorvastatin on the basis of conventional medical treatment. Serum levels of IL-6, hs-CRP in preoperative and postoperative 5, 10, 24 h were compared between two groups. Serum total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low density lipoprotein (LDL) levels. Results The levels of IL-6 and hs-CRP in the observation group were lower than those in the control group at 5 h, 10 h and 24 h after operation (P <0.05). The levels of serum IL-6 and hs-CRP at different time points were statistically different (P <0.05), and there was interaction between time and group (P <0.05). The levels of TC, TG and LDL in the observation group at 12 and 24 h after operation were lower than those in the control group (P <0.05). The levels of TC, TG and LDL at different time points were significantly different (P <0.05). There was interaction between time and group (P <0.05). Conclusions Atorvastatin can effectively reduce the inflammatory response in patients with ACS after PCI and effectively regulate blood lipid levels.
