古称“浔阳”的九江,是镶嵌在中国的“黄金水道”——长江中下游段的一颗璀璨明珠。九江建城已有二千多年。现在它是江西唯一的对外贸易口岸和主要风景旅游区。“七五”计划把长江中下游流域的开发利用列为建设重点。地处长江经济带中段的九江市的经济繁荣、科技发展就愈来愈显得迫切和重要了。江西省已把开发九江,建设一个通向世界各地的贸易、金融、旅游中心,列为全省今后的建设重点。 就此,记者采访了九江市市长江国镇。他说:
Jiujiang, anciently known as “Shenyang”, is a shining pearl embedded in China’s “golden waterway” - the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. Jiujiang City has more than 2000 years. It is now the only foreign trade port and the main scenic tourist area in Jiangxi province. The “Seventh Five-year Plan” lists the development and utilization of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River as a key point of construction. Located in the middle of the Yangtze River economic belt in Jiujiang economic prosperity, the development of science and technology is increasingly urgent and important. Jiangxi Province has developed Jiujiang and built a trade, financial and tourism center that leads to all parts of the world as the focus of its future construction.
