LiYF4(YLF)属正方晶系，与CaWO4相同,具有白钨矿结构。晶格常数值a=-5.26±0.03埃,c=10.94±0.03埃,熔点819 ℃,为激光晶体材料。众所周知,YLF与Y3Al5O12(YAG)相比导热率较小，约为后者的1/2,但是因为折射率温度系数为负值，所以热透镜效应比YAG小得多。
